Tuition Policy

BYU reserves the right to delete classes for students who have not paid their entire tuition balance by the add/drop deadline.

Paying Online:
Your tuition balance can be viewed/paid online in My Financial Center (mfc.byu.edu).

Note that eCheck payments are processed free of charge. A 2.0% convenience fee applies to all tuition related charges paid with a credit card. For information on other payment methods, click HERE. It can take up to 30 minutes for financial holds to update once tuition is paid in full.

Short-term Loan Application:
You can apply for a Short-term Loan (STL) HERE or by following the instructions below:

  • Type mfc.byu.edu into your web browser
  • Click the Financial Aid tab
  • Click on BYU Short Term Loan

Scholarships and Financial Aid:
If you have a balance due for tuition but you are expecting a scholarship and/or financial aid to cover your tuition, please contact Enrollment Services at (801) 422-4104 or submit a case through the Student Success Hub (hub.byu.edu) for more information.

If you no longer plan to attend classes, it is your responsibility to drop your classes to avoid tuition charges, and to free space for other students. You can drop classes or make changes to your enrollment by clicking HERE.
