Academic Unit Study Abroad Assistance

Departments who wish to subsidize the cost of a Kennedy Center Study Abroad Program may do so using one of the following options:

  1. Provide scholarships to specific students the department wishes to assist.

This option allows the department to aid a specific student(s), but when choosing this option, the department must work through the BYU Scholarship office to disburse the funds to the student’s school account. The scholarship funds will be used to pay the program cost assessed to the student in their school account. No funds are transferred to the Kennedy Center.

  2. Make a lump sum contribution to the desired program with “no strings attached.”

This option will benefit all students enrolled in the given program by reducing the cost equally for all participating students. The department cannot designate specific students to receive this option's cost-benefit. The Kennedy Center website should be updated to display and charge the advertised program costs at the reduced rate for all participants.
