Long Distance Telephone Charges

1. If personal long distance calls are being made, are they accounted for and properly reimbursed? Is there any evidence of unauthorized use? Obtain a monthly phone bill for the department and review the following:
   • Inquire about personal long distance calls and the procedure for reimbursement (see step "9" under GENERAL above.) Make recommendations as deemed appropriate.
   • Review the bill for any unusual long distance charges (i.e. excessive international calls, late hours, holidays, Sundays etc.). Obtain explanation from responsible persons. Contact Information Technology Services at 422-4000 for concerns about intrusion or hacking.
